The MESA project has received a positive assessment from the European Research Executive Agency for its second year of implementation, confirming important progress in coordination, communication, visibility and project delivery.
The MESA project โ Mediterranean Islands for Sustainable Agriculture โ has received a positive assessment from the European Research Executive Agency following the review of its second reporting period.
REA highlighted significant progress in several key areas, including the enhancement of the project website and social media channels, the implementation of online advertising activities, the production of promotional video material, and the organisation of trade fair, B2B, eno-gastronomic and press activities.
A key milestone of the second year was MESAโs participation in ANUGA 2025 in Cologne, where the project promoted sustainable agri-food products from Crete, Sardinia and Mallorca, strengthened the visibility of European quality schemes, and communicated the value of sustainable island agriculture to professional audiences.
The review also recognised the improved management of the project, the active involvement of all beneficiaries, the organisation of regular structured coordination meetings, and the more efficient execution of activities.
Building on this positive evaluation, the consortium will continue its work in the final year with a stronger focus on evidence-based sustainability communication, increased synergies between communication tools and events, and further engagement of the German target audience. This positive assessment confirms that MESA is progressing in the right direction and provides a strong basis for the successful completion of the project.
