Project Title: Rural Communities Engaged with Positive Energy
Project Acronym: Compose

Main Objective:
To increase the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency in rural and island communities through integrated planning and demonstration actions.

COMPOSE introduced a holistic approach to energy planning, combining technical, economic and social aspects to support the transition towards renewable energy systems. The project implemented 15 pilot actions across 11 Mediterranean regions, demonstrating practical solutions for energy efficiency, renewable energy deployment and local development.

By establishing local action groups and engaging a wide range of stakeholders, COMPOSE enhanced knowledge, raised awareness and promoted behavioural change. The project developed tools, methodologies and training materials to support replication and ensure long-term impact, contributing to reduced energy poverty and improved quality of life in rural and island communities.
